Welcome to Safe Ludo – A community initiative dedicated to protecting the precious Ludo Forest nature reserve from industrial pollution.
Our Mission
The Ludo Forest is a unique natural treasure in the Algarve region, home to diverse wildlife and an essential part of our local ecosystem. However, this protected nature reserve is under threat from industrial activities that are causing significant environmental damage.
Our goal is to document and expose the ongoing pollution affecting the Ludo Forest, with the ultimate aim of relocating industrial operations to areas where they will not harm protected natural habitats or affect the quality of life of local residents.
The Problem
The Ludo Forest nature reserve is currently experiencing three major types of pollution from nearby industrial activities:
- Illegal Waste Dumping – Hazardous materials and industrial waste are being improperly disposed of around the industrial site, contaminating the soil and threatening local wildlife.
- Air Pollution and Odor Nuisance – Toxic emissions and persistent unpleasant odors are degrading air quality and affecting the health of the ecosystem.
- Noise Pollution – Excessive industrial noise is disrupting the natural habitat and disturbing both wildlife and nearby residents.

This website serves as a platform to document evidence of pollution in the Ludo Forest. We are collecting photographic evidence, air quality data, and noise measurements to build a comprehensive legal case for the protection of this vital nature reserve.
